JamliJodi

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 July 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal data JamliJodi collects, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it — in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023, and other applicable laws. It applies to your use of the JamliJodi website and services.

1. Data we collect

We collect only the data needed to provide a safe, effective matchmaking service:

  • Account & profile — your name, phone number, email (if provided), date of birth, gender, religion, community, location, education, profession, lifestyle details, photos, and partner preferences.
  • Verification — identity documents you choose to submit for the verified badge, which are stored in encrypted form and never shown to other members.
  • Activity — interests, shortlists, messages, and similar interactions required to operate the service.
  • Payments — the plan or add-on you purchase and the payment confirmation you upload. We do not store your bank, card, or UPI PIN details.
  • Technical — limited device and log information, such as IP address and browser type, used to keep your account secure and the service running.

2. How we use your data

We use your data to create and manage your profile, suggest and rank compatible matches, enable communication between members, process and verify payments, confirm identity for the verified badge, keep the platform safe from misuse, provide support, and meet our legal obligations.

3. Legal basis for processing

We process your data based on the consent you give when you sign up and use specific features, and as necessary to provide the service you have requested and to comply with law. You can withdraw consent for optional processing, such as marketing communications, at any time.

4. What others can see

Other members see only what your privacy settings allow. We never display your exact date of birth, your contact details, or your identity documents on your profile. Contact details are shared only through the gated features that you control. You can adjust who can see your profile and photos — everyone, premium members, or only your matches — at any time.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, remember your language preference, and protect your account against fraud and abuse. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising or sell browsing data. You can control cookies through your browser, though disabling essential cookies may prevent you from signing in.

6. How we protect your data

We protect your information using encryption for data in transit and for sensitive items such as identity documents, together with strict access controls and internal safeguards over who can access member data. While no online service can promise perfect security, we work continuously to keep your information safe.

7. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. When you delete your account, it is deactivated immediately and your personal data is permanently erased after a 30-day grace period, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.

8. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us operate the platform — such as communication and payment-support providers — under obligations to protect it and use it solely for that purpose. We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our members.

9. Your rights (DPDP)

At any time, from your Settings, you can:

  • Access and download a copy of the data we hold about you (data export).
  • Correct your information by editing your profile.
  • Manage your consents, including for marketing communications.
  • Delete your account — deactivated immediately and permanently erased after a 30-day grace period.

You may also raise any grievance or concern about how your data is handled with our Grievance Officer, detailed below.

10. Children

JamliJodi is a matrimonial service intended only for adults of legal marriageable age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that we have collected data from a person who is not eligible, we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you in-app or by email and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.

12. Grievance Officer & contact

In accordance with the DPDP Act, 2023 and applicable rules, you can contact our Grievance Officer for any privacy-related question or to exercise your rights:

The Grievance Officer, JamliJodi
Email: jamlijodi16@gmail.com

We aim to acknowledge and address your request within the timelines required by law.
